devio software package provides correctly read (or write) a region of a block device, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install devio
devio is installed in your system.
Make ensure the devio package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep devio *
You will get with devio package name, version, architecture and description in a table
